Wildheart call for change with new single, ‘Backburner’

9 Apr, 2021

Wildheart make their return with a pressing message in new single, ‘Backburner’. Opening with part of Bruce Shillingsworth powerful speech, the song serves as a call to arms to really rally for change. It’s forceful, the riffs constant and the words emotional as the Brisbane metalcore outfit use their platform to speak out.

Vocalist Axel Best, says that the song “…was written after Australia bore witness to the worst bushfires we have ever seen. Backburner is about “the government’s continuous refusal to listen, learn and adopt indigenous techniques that were used for thousands of years to preserve and care for the land.”
