Ohio band, Rusted Hearts, have just dropped the second EP in their trilogy of releases and Waiting Room is an emotional look into the overwhelming feeling of loss and how it feels to be trapped there. It’s easy to love a band who are doing things a little differently and by linking their first three releases together in terms of storyline, Rusted Hearts are definitely unique.
Waiting Room is a little more polished than their debut, Return Home, but still retains that charming DIY aestethic. Sonically, it’s a little less upbeat than the first, which makes sense considering the subject matter of grief and emotional turmoil and that’s so beautifully conveyed here with vulnerability. Fans of Armor For Sleep, Movements and Microwave, get listening.
“Waiting Room as a whole is about attempting to push your way through grief. Feeling stuck in this place not knowing where to go, what to do, or even how it’s supposed to feel from there on out. You’re just stuck in the waiting room waiting for comfort to call your name,” says lead vocalist/guitarist Patrick Farmer.
