With big breakdowns and bigger hooks, Next Attempt are set to please everyone from New Found Glory to A Day To Remember fans (and beyond) with last year’s Red Flags – they’ve even thrown in a couple of acoustic tracks for good measure. They share a hecking great playlist and settle the pizza argument in an interesting way as they chat to us about music and more.
Tell us a little about yourself. Where the name came from, how long you’ve been going for and anything else new fans would want to know.
We’re an alternative punk band from Louisville Kentucky. We came up with our name in the studio as a joke, “We’re Next Attempt since the first one didn’t work.”
What was your very first memory of music?
We all started as your stereotypical elementary school band kids and have been involved with music ever since.
Is there a band or artist that you’d love to collaborate with and/or open for on tour?
We’d love to work with several groups like Nothing But Thieves, PUP and Post Malone. They’re all insanely talented and we think that it would just be a lot of fun to work with them.
“The spirit of Punk was alive and well in South Louisville that night.”
Speaking of live shows, what’s your favourite story from a show so far?
During our “Red Flags” release show we almost burned down our house with pyrotechnics during our sound check. Luckily we were able to get the fire out. We learned that you shouldn’t use acetone in any sense when fire is involved. Hence why Noah is now called, “Scooter the Flame Alchemist”
Settle an argument for us (and the rest of the world) pineapple on pizza?
The Krusty Krab pizza doesn’t have pineapple so neither do we. #SaveSpongebobsHouse
Rising to the challenge, Next Attempt have put together an electrifying collection of songs that best encapsulates the artists and music that inspire them as a band.
