Alera release nostalgic post-hardcore belter ‘Bleak’

30 Sep, 2021

Currently Playing picked band, Alera, are back with a brand-new song and team Alt Club couldn’t be happier. Channeling pure 2000s post-hardcore/emo energy in a way not many achieve without sounding dated, this post-hardcore quintet shares melodic single, ‘Bleak’. To sweeten the deal, the band have also announced a forthcoming EP, due for release in November.

‘Bleak’ is about struggling with dark thoughts and was written in a time of vulnerability. Vocalist Hayden Oakley adds: “The desperation of the mind when it seeks escape can become overpowering, and during moments of weakness can leave you in a state of hopelessness.”
